Kyle has been busy despite pandemic conditions over the last few year. He travelled to Coventry in 2021 and competed in 5 track events - 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m at this event. He was invited to attend the Muller Games in Manchester for the 400m event. He continues to compete competitively with determination and success
At the scottishathletics West District Cross Country Championships, and Grand Prix Challenge Jonny finished 2nd
He was a clear winner in the virtual 5k race held during April 2020 with an excellent time of 14:01. From here on in Jonny was 1st place in 5k elite at Lochgelly, Inter District virtual races and by March 2021 he won the half marathon with an impressive time 22:42 for 5 miles.
Jonny runs for Scotland both at National and International level. He works hard to raise the profile of athletics in general and to inspire some of the younger members in Inverclyde Athletic Club to participate and compete competitively. He is currently a mentor to two young athletes, helping them through complex process of applying to US collegiate system, giving guidance and direction.
At the scottishathletics West District Cross Country Relays held at Glasgow, Nynke recorded the fastest lap of the day in the senior womens’ Event. No surprise given the list of achievements that she has gained so far, including a number of wins and major achievements in 15 races throughout the UK.
Nynke achieved her first full international vest when she was selected to represent Scotland at the scottishathletics Home Countries International at Stirling in January 2021, finishing in 9th place with the Scotland Team finishing 2nd and taking silver medals.
Nynke is a fantastic role model for younger athletes and she encourages young people in her local area to lead an active lifestyle. She works within the leisure industry and essentially gives a lot back to the sport that has given her so many incredible opportunities throughout her career.
