The search has started for the Inverclyde sports people who have made the headlines in 2021/2022, culminating in the glittering awards dinner which this year will take place in the Greenock Town Hall on 13th May 2022 The 2020/2021 awards promise to be another very enjoyable occasion for all involved.
The nine categories of award for 2020/2021 remain the Inverclyde Senior Sports Personality of the Year, Junior Sports Personality of the Year, Disabled Sports Personality of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Team of the Year, School Team of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year (up to age 25) and Adult Volunteer of the Year.
The 2020/2021 awards are once again organised by West College Scotland, Inverclyde Council through Active Schools, Inverclyde Leisure, New Horizons Marketing and sportscotland with technical help from 8digital. Anyone, whether a club, official or individual can nominate in any and all of the nine categories either online on this website or download the forms here and complete and post them to Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards, 43a Esplanade, Greenock PA16 7RY. Nomination forms will also be available in all Inverclyde Leisure facilities.
Nominations which should cover successes during the 2021/2022 calendar year are warmly invited by the organisers and need to be in by Monday 7th March 2022 either online or by post, with the requested photographs.
On behalf of the organisers Chris Jewell from New Horizons Marketing said, ‘Last year’s awards produced a considerable number of nominations and some very worthy winners.
2019 was a great year for many Inverclyde sportspeople so please nominate your local sporting heroes so they have the best chance of winning an award. They have got to be in it to win it!’
Once again, the net proceeds from the Awards will go towards providing grants to aspiring Inverclyde sportspeople to help them compete at regional, national and international events.
