The Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards were re-introduced in 2011 by local organisers after a gap of several years when the Awards were not presented. As annual awards they have been very well received as part of a glittering sports awards event both recognising and rewarding sporting success on a wide scale. The Awards currently include nine categories of award:
Senior Sports Personality of the Year; Junior Sports Personality of the Year; Disabled Sports Personality of the Year; School Team of the Year; Team of the Year; Club of the Year; Coach of the Year; Young Volunteer of the Year (up to age 25) and Adult Volunteer of the Year.

The winners are announced at the special awards evening dinner event in the Greenock Town Hall and the 2019 awards will be presented on Friday 27th March 2020. You will be able to buy tickets to these special Awards dinner events from Smith Sports in West Blackhall Street in Greenock. The price of tickets remains at £35 each and includes a drink on arrival, a three course meal with wine plus tea and coffee. All finalists will receive a free ticket to the event. The event gets great positive feedback from sponsors and those who attend and the organisers, West College Scotland, Inverclyde Leisure, Inverclyde Council’s Active Schools team, sportscotland and New Horizons Marketing intend that each awards event surpasses the previous one.
The net proceeds from the dinner event go towards providing additional funding for Inverclyde athletes in their aim of participating in The Olympics and Commonwealth Games as well as other national and international events through a special grant scheme administered by the organisers … see the GRANTS SCHEME. tab on our homepage.
